The Ashore Hotel celebrated its first anniversary over Fourth of July weekend.

“Our hotel is very unique: industrial chic, simple, sustainable and chic,” according to hotel representative Linh DePledge. “Something you don’t see in Seaside: a quiet coastal place.”

The hotel is owned by Tiffany and Brady Turner, owners of Adrift Hotel and Inn at Discovery Coast, both in Long Beach Washington.

Ashore, on the site of the former Sundowner Hotel, opened one year ago with 22 rooms ranging from 350 square feet to 900 square feet. The Ashore features an indoor heated saline pool, in-house wine and espresso bar, outdoor fire pit and a retro, modern decor. “We want people to come here and enjoy,” DePledge said.

Visitors “tend to be well traveled, adventure seeking and want something unique,” she said. “They want something off the beaten path, we’re finding our tribe on the shore.”
