Seaside police promote community partnership

The Seaside and Cannon Beach police departments invites its residents to join them and over 16,000 other communities for National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4. National Night Out promotes a police community partnership; crime, drug, and violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity.

More than 38 million people throughout the country and military bases are expected to participate this year. Seaside and Cannon Beach residents have the opportunity be a part of this national event and join their friends and neighbors in celebrating this “32nd Annual National Night Out” crime prevention event.

This is the 10th year for this event in Seaside and the second year in Cannon Beach. In Seaside National Night Out will again be held at Broadway Park and Cartwright Park. The Cannon Beach event will be held at the City Park at the chamber. The Rotary Club of Seaside and Seaside Kiwanis will provide free hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks. In Seaside, Sunset Park and Recreation will be there providing games for the kids complete with prizes. The Seaside Chamber of Commerce will be furnishing desert and sponsoring numerous prizes throughout the evening.

Events take place Tuesday, Aug. 4, 6-8 p.m. in Seaside and 5-7 p.m. in Cannon Beach.
