The eighth-annual Ducky Derby, sponsored by Clatsop Community Bank and KCRX 102.3 FM, was held June 13 at Quatat Park in Seaside. The event raised more than $4,000 for Seaside Kids Inc. this year, and has raised about $30,000 for the nonprofit athletic program since Clatsop Community Bank began sponsoring the event in 2009.

In addition to being the event’s title sponsor, the bank awarded the grand prize of a $500 savings account to the Santos family, the owners of this year’s winning duck. Other prizes included an iPad Mini, Samsung Blu Ray player, family passes to the Seaside Aquarium, gift certificates to local restaurants and more.

Seaside Kids is a nonprofit organization that raises money to provide free athletic programs for children in Seaside, Gearhart and Cannon Beach. It was organized more than 50 years ago and serves hundreds of local youth who participate in baseball, softball, football, golf and swimming programs at no charge. The group also provides scholarships that enable children to attend special tournaments. For information, go to www.seasidekidsinc.org
