Excerpts from Seaside Police Log Aug. 15-28

Aug. 15

12:25 a.m., Ninth Avenue and Franklin Street: Officer located two juveniles out past curfew. Subjects warned and were heading home.

9:25 a.m., 1200 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Request for officer assistance after Helping Hands dropped an elderly woman in a wheelchair with boxes of belongings off at gas station. Woman was provided some local resources for assistance and then took a cab to Pine Cove Motel.

4:28 p.m., North Wahanna Road: Caller reported man standing in road, appears confused. Officer assisted him in getting medical help.

Aug. 16

6:29 p.m., Avenue A: Caller reported woman lying on the beach for an extended period of time. Officers responded and found woman from earlier theft case. Woman was cited and trespassed from Safeway.

8:29 p.m., South Columbia Street and parking garage: Caller reporting ongoing issue of persons throwing items off of the top of the garage. Suspects had left the area at this time. Email was sent out to all officers to be aware of the issue.

Aug. 17

9:43 a.m., Prom and Avenue A: Caller reported altered female possibly in need of assistance. Officer responded and advised female under the influence of something, but she refused consent search or any other assistance.

10:53 a.m., 800 block of North Holladay Drive: Caller reporting person entering her apartment against her will. Officer responded and advised person trespassed from apartment and warned for disorderly contact.

11:40 p.m., 500 block of Beach Drive: Caller reporting subject banging on his utility trailer. Officer contacted subject who was intoxicated and would be moving on. He also was trespassed.

Aug. 18

3:51 p.m., 11th Avenue and the Prom: Caller reporting person attempting to break into a vehicle. Officer made contact with owner of vehicle and was advised female had permission to enter vehicle.

Aug. 19

3:06 p.m., 700 block of South Wahanna Road: Request for officer assistance at Providence ER for intoxicated female threatening to assault staff. Officers arrived and contacted female, who agreed to calm down and be cooperative with staff.

5:58 p.m., 500 block of Hillside Loop: Caller reported kids shooting BB guns or air-soft pistols and the pellets were hitting her house. Officer responded and contacted on the youths, and advised him of the city ordinance. Kids putting away their guns.

Aug. 20

3:28 p.m., Avenue S and the Prom: Caller reported school-age boy riding his bike naked eastbound on Avenue S from the Prom. Officer located parent, who said the child chose to strip naked and ride his bike two blocks to home. Everything was fine.

4:30 p.m., 1300 block of Second Avenue: Caller reported seeing male take off screen and crawl in back window of neighboring house. Officers arrived and contacted subject, who had forgotten his keys.

11:03 p.m., Fifth Avenue and the Prom: Officer responded to check welfare of reported intoxicated stumbling female and gave courtesy ride home.

Aug. 21

6:13 p.m., 1500 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Request for welfare check on intoxicated woman harassing people and licking the windows of her boss’ car. Officer contacted subject, who was not a danger to herself or others. Complainant did not want to trespass subject.

6:45 p.m., 100 block of Oceanway: Intoxicated female would not exit cab, and took cab keys and threw them out the window. Officers arrived and contacted her husband, who would take responsibility for her. No crime committed.

10:18 p.m., 400 block of South Holladay Drive: Caller reporting trespassed at house next door. Officers contacted a female sleeping in the bushes and warned her of trespassing she will be moving along.

Aug. 23

10:54 a.m., 700 block of Second Avenue: Caller reporting erratic driving. Officer conducted traffic stop and driver was a suspended driver. Citations issued.

11:44 a.m., Turnaround: Caller reported drone flying in front of room windows and requesting information. Officer advised no action could be taken as there are very few regulations regarding drones.

Aug. 24

12:08 a.m., Fourth Avenue: Officer contacted minors in possession of alcohol. Minors were cited.

1:23 p.m., 30 block of North Prom: Caller reporting a male with his pants down at the Turnaround. Officer contacted subject and warned him for behavior. He was also warned for unlawful lodging.

11:07 a.m., 800 block of 12th Avenue: Caller reporting neighbor painting curb yellow to ensure parking for his residence on the street. Officer responded and advised he could not paint the curb and just had to take his chances as far as a parking space being available. He stated he would take care of removing the yellow paint.

9:33 p.m., 2400 block of U.S. Highway 101: Caller reported person camping outside of a business. Officers responded and informed subject of local lodging laws. Subject will be moving on.

Aug. 25

1:38 a.m., 12th Avenue and Necanicum Drive: Officer contacted an intoxicated subject and gave him a ride home.

11:15 a.m., Broadway Park near river: Complaint of motorhome near river that’s been there about a week. Personal belongings scattered about. Officer contacted subject, who stated his battery was being charged and as soon as he got it back, he would be moving.

Aug. 26

2:37 a.m. 500 block of South Columbia Street: Caller reported flashlights and noise in a nearby house under construction. Officers responded and found unlawful lodgers.

3:48 p.m., 400 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Report of cold hit-and-run from Dec. 30, 2013, at Safeway parking lot. Victim’s vehicle a 1999 Ford I ton, dually, crew cab was allegedly damaged while victim was in the store. No suspect information, no witness information. Damage to rear bumper, tailgate and passenger rear panel. White paint transfer.

10:19 p.m., 1200 block of Avenue F: Two callers reported domestic disturbance. Officer responded.

Aug. 27

11:19 a.m., Riverwalk near 200 block of South Holladay Drive: Complaint of transient camp near second bench north of Avenue A on the Necanicum Riverwalk, somewhat behind Bagels by the Sea and the furniture store. Officers responded, no one present upon their arrival. Officer made contact with Bagels by the Sea, who reports this is an on-going problem. Bagels will call back when subjects are present.

12:50 p.m., Wahanna Road and Broadway: Caller reported group of young adults walking down the middle of Wahanna and then lunging at her car as she honked and attempted to go around them. Subjects were gone upon officer’s arrival.

7:37 p.m., U.S. Highway 26 Junction: Caller reported reckless driver cut him off while merging from double lanes to single lanes on U.S. Highway 26, and nearly had a head-on collision with another driver. Driver had stopped at Divine Grounds Coffee shop at the junction. Officer drove to the junction, but was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Aug. 28

7:13 a.m., 2100 block of North Holladay Drive: Caller reporting unlawful lodging. Officer contacted subjects and advised them of unlawful lodging ordinance.
