It’s a food fight between Providence Seaside and Columbia Memorial hospitals, but everyone wins.
Designed to boost summer donations to Clatsop Community Action for the county’s food pantries, the competition runs through Aug. 18.
The most needed items include canned meats, peanut butter, boxed cereal, feminine hygiene and toilet paper. All canned and boxed food and personal hygiene items are welcome. Make checks payable to Clatsop Community Action. For more information, call 503-861-FOOD (3663).
Community members can help feed the hungry by making donations at all of Providence’s north coast locations: Providence Seaside Hospital, Providence Heart Clinic-Astoria, Providence Medical Group-Cannon Beach, Providence Rehabilitation Services-Gearhart, Providence Medical Group-Seaside and Providence Medical Group-Warrenton.
Local businesses are also accepting donations for the drive: Gearhart Grocery, Seaside Ace Hardware, Seaside Carousel Mall, Seaside Chamber of Commerce and Visitors’ Bureau, Seaside Coffee House, Seaside Fire & Rescue and Sunset Empire Parks and Recreation District in Seaside.
